APVV-20-0108 Implementation of the 2030 Agenda through Biosphere Reserves (1.7.2021 – 30.6.2025)
The aim of the project is to create a proposal for a sustainable institutional, financial and legislative model for the functioning of biosphere reserves in the conditions of the Slovak Republic and the basis for their strategic development based on an analysis of the potential of the territory in the context of fulfilling the goals of the 2030 Agenda, the theory of resilience, foreign experience and examples of good practice. The model will reflect the outputs of the analysis of all components of the potential of four Slovak biosphere reserves in the context of the theory of resilience and the goals of the 2030 Agenda and will be developed with specific business models of individual biosphere reserves. It will also include a methodology for creating development documents for biosphere reserves (development strategy, action plan, marketing communication strategy), which will be applied during the project in all four biosphere reserves with regard to the latest trends in territorial development, supporting the resilience of the studied territories and preserving their exceptional value on a global scale. The project will also include activities aimed at building awareness of the professional and lay public about the issues addressed, popularizing the project results and exchanging knowledge, ideas and experiences with actors from the public, private and non-profit sectors in the form of workshops, conferences, public discussions, conference contributions and high-quality research outputs.
